Private 5G solves a specific set of problems well: large physical footprints, RF-hostile materials, high device density, and applications that cannot tolerate variable latency.
If none of those describe your site, a well-designed Wi-Fi 6E deployment is usually the better economic answer.
Four questions before you evaluate vendors
Answer these with measurements, not impressions.
- How many square metres must be covered, and what are the walls and machinery made of?
- How many concurrent devices at peak, and what is their traffic profile?
- Which applications break if latency varies by 50 milliseconds?
- Does operational data need to remain on site?
Plan for operations, not just deployment
The deployment is a project; the network is a permanent responsibility. SIM lifecycle, device onboarding, policy changes and monitoring need named owners before go-live.
